 The Bach Project --Over the next two years Medici Music Press will publish over 273 works by J.S. Bach out of the 1104 works of Bach. All research is from Bach Gesellschaft 1851-1899. This Is a 35 year journey for publisher Ronald Dishinger. For many years as assistant conductor of the Aspen Music Festival he performed each year many Bach works as part of the Dorothy Delay Concerto Concerts which he and Dorothy Delay initiated in 1971.This Bach-Project will have solos (some 2540 ),duets and ensembles. No one has ever taken on such a large project especially the canatas arranged for various ensembles. Over some 26 years I was conductor of the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and for 9 years assistant conductor of the Aspen Music Festival. I am only interested in the end-product - musical sound. Cross sampling and Single-directional samples are done so that you can program any sample from the legato format it comes in to staccato,marcato,detache,spiccato or whatever style,attack and length of note you desire. These are single layer samples which are not modified with all types of EQ’s,compressions andthe like. Too many sample libraries on the market now have all kinds of fancy styles that if you alter one little bit you get unsual problems. We tried to keep it simple and useable. I personally have recorded over 516 60 minute CDS of the Medici Music Press 3811 publications over many years with these samples in this library and I know some of the musical problems. I am not so interested in technology that is so perfect and the music sounds contrived and artifical. I started sampling in 1990 with friends of mine after spending a great deal of money to record Medici publications. I asked my friends to do some samples for me. However from 1990 I have used a sample or two from various players and made a cross sample of my sounds. I have taken the best sound for example, of one note from one player and another note from another player. So you get 13 years of work plus I am interested only in the musical results of the samples.
